Sipping my coffee I resolved to finish an article. The past few days I had been struggling to put into the words what was perhaps my best experience ever on the Appalachian Trail.
Then I opened my news app. People believe the election was fraudulent. COVID is going to shutter my business.
I turned the world to the "off" position. I fixed a nice breakfast.
The year 2020 has brought so much. I lost my mother in January. My business was on the brink as spring turned to summer.
This year has given me something else. It has reminded me that I know how to live.
Not perfectly. Some days I am unable to write. Other days going to work feels like trying to walk through a heavy surf. Yet many days this year, somehow, have felt like the best days of my life. Happy days.
This year brought me a new slogan, stolen from another, narrating a hiking video. It may be the best gift of 2020.
Live life as if everything is rigged in your favor.
Feel free to steal it and use it as your own.
What if I told you 2020 has been a great year for me? What if I told you most of my anxieties, expelled from my keyboard, but were far from the norm?
It’s true. This has been a great year.
After breakfast I finished my article. You can read it here. Or not. It's all good.
By the way. I had Belgian waffles for breakfast. Wow. They were so good.
